Atlas Gym; Tuesday [06/03].

"Come try our endless treadmill?" asked Gladio, reading skeptically from thr banner that had been hung up in thr lobby before arching an eyebrow at Sonja.

She promptoly led him over to the treadmill in question, which was running at a slightly-faster-than-brisket pace, no matter what button she pushed or knob she turned.

"Hold on," said Gladio, feeling pretty smart for having a solution, "i got this."

But when he went to the wall to unplug it, he found it was already unplugged, and Sonja was looking smugly amused.

"Huh."

And so he was adding a new sign: "One Month Membership Free if You Can Stay On the Ednless Treadmill for 30 minutes or more."

Paintball, Tuesday (6/3)

Does anyone else need an excuse to shoot at things this week?" Steve asked. "Because we did."

Thus the paintball sniper rifles!

"We've modified the paintball guns so they work as sniper rifles," Tony said. "And set up various little hidden spots to hole up in."

"There are also targets located over paint buckets, if you're looking to increase your shooting accuracy," Steve added helpfully, "you can hit the target and flip the buckets."

"Maybe don't stand under the buckets if you're hoping to win," Tony suggested. "Just a little advice.

"That's good strategy," Steve agreed. "Okay, everyone, suit up!"

This week? This week the concessions stand was entirely filled with different varieties of M&M's.

"'Caramel Cold Brew'?" Bucky asked no one in particular, picking up a bag. "Didn't have that during the war."

Yes, and this neither:

Norse Life, Tuesday, Period 2

Today, the Danger Shop was set up as an axe-throwing range, with a beaming Thor presiding over it. "Today, we shall participate in an activity that has become quite popular of late, at your bars and such," proof that truly, nothing went better together than alcohol and throwing sharp objects, "although the ones found at such places are often made of plastic. Fear not, you shall be just as safe today. This is all a simulation," he reminded his students. "The activity is quite simple." He demonstrated by one-handedly chucking an axe at a target, which it hit dead center. "Now you try. We shall make a bit of a competition of it, hmm? The winner gets a prize! A ten dollar gift card to The Perk, which in this modern day is just about enough to buy a coffee, I believe." Now get to axe-chucking!

There were easels set up around the room, and in the centre of it was a display of fruit. Very suggestive fruit.

"We're going back tot eh basics for this one," Aphra told the class. "Drawing from life."

"We were planning on doing actual life drawing, to give you the experience," Isabela added. "Unfortunately the only person responding to our ad for a model was Tino." And despite what some might think, Isabela did have standards.

"So, fruit."

"Fruit. That was once alive, so technically it counts."

Finding New Hobbies, Tuesday 6/3, Period 1

Hobby class this week was being held in the home ec room. That meant that, once again, it was time to bake with Stark.

Not like that, Stewart. Probably.

“Morning, everyone,” Stark said. “Today we’ll be doing something that isn’t a new hobby for me but it may be for some of you. Today we’ll be baking. I thought we could start with brownies. Brownies are fairly simple but you can make adjustments to make them your own, if you like. Add different things. Extra chocolate, cinnamon, coffee, or maybe some fruit. Sprinkles? There are lots of choices.”

The choices available included some brownie mixes, a simple recipe and the necessary ingredients for it, and some moddable options for toppings and mix-ins.

“You can also make frosting for brownies, if you like. There’s a recipe for that as well as the one for the brownies.

“Baking is one of my favorite things to do. Keeps my hands busy and my mind busy and then there are delicious things to eat or to share or both once it’s finished. I’m trying to make brownies with espresso today. Just to try it out. I think they’ll be good. You can all have some when I’ve finished. If you like.”

It was just Jaina today, which was probably why you were getting the class that you were. She'd also told everyone to come to the park, since it was nice enough and grass was softer.

Today you're going to do trust falls," she said. "You stand with your back to another person and fall back, trusting that they're going to catch you. Which sort of takes the actual trust out of it. That's why today, you're going to do trust falls, but the catcher can decide whether or not they're actually going to catch the faller. Do you trust the person to save you? Can you be trusted to do the saving? And we're going to do a few rounds, so don't think you're safe if you get through it once."

Yep, this was definitely a Jaina-not-Jag class.

The Art of Conversation, 3rd period

Jon was smiling. He was doing his best. It looked a bit pained.

"Today's tip for conversation is to be enthusiastic. You want to show enthusiasm for what people are discussing. So that's what we're going to practice. Each of you is going to choose a topic to discuss, and the others of us will be enthusiastic about it. Whether we are or not."

He waved note cards. "I have suggestions again if you can't think of something to talk about."

National Park Adventure Team! [Monday, Period 4]

"I hope you're all ready for a game of 'I Spy,'" Ghanima laughed, handing out binnoculars as the students arrived. "Today we are heading to Hemis National Park, before the unofficial tourist-season opening, to look for their famed snow leopards!"

"Hemis is a high-elevation national park in Hemis in Leh district of Ladakh, India. The park has the highest density of snow leopards in any protected area in the world. However, Hemis functions very differently from other national parks and reserves in the country. You won’t find different wildlife zones or lodges here. And while the snow leopards are the park's main focus, with 200 breeding pairs, 16 mammal species and 73 bird species have been recorded in the park so far. You may see Argali, Bharal, Shapu, the Asiatic ibex, the Tibetan wolf, the Eurasian brown bear -- endangered in India -- Himalayan marmot, mountain weasel and the Himalayan mouse hare."

"Unlike many national parks, over 1,600 people live inside the park boundaries, mostly pastoralists raising poultry, goats, and sheep. This results in considerable animal-human conflict within the region. Snow leopards prey on livestock." Ghanima shrugged. "Often because the families are overgrazing their livestock outside the permitted bounds. It is a delicate balance between supporting the habitation of families that have been there for generations, and not overly interfearing with the snow leopards."

"The park also houses numerous Tibetan gompas and holy chortens within its boundaries. These include the famous 400-year-old Hemis Monastery. Hemis was a destination and via point on the silk routes of Tibet, and has long been a place of pilgrimage for Tibetan Buddhists. However, in the late 19th and early 20th century, the monastery attracted some attention due to the writings of Nicolas Notovitch, a Russian aristocrat and journalist, who claimed that Jesus had spent the missing years of his life in Tibet and Ladakh, specifically in Hemis."

The portal opened right as Ghanima finished speaking. "Right on time!" she laughed, taking Trebor's hand as he played with the binoculars hanging around his neck. "Let's go find some big cats!"

Creative Problem Solving, June 2, 2025 [2nd period]

Anakin and Ahsoka were standing in front of a roofless L-shaped building made of concrete. It had two low doorways on either end of the structure.

"Before we explain what we're standing in front of," Anakin began, "we want to see the art you obviously spent all week creating for us."

"I'm sure you've all done your best." For someone who looked serene, Ahsoka had a definite vibe of glee about her today.

"Even if your best is very bad," Anakin said, nodding. "Let's see what you've brought."

Once Anakin had very judgily judged everyone's art, Ahsoka extended her hand towards the nearest entrance to the, let's be real, it was a bunker. "If you would be so kind as to enter this structure here to receive your task."

Anakin read aloud: "Avoid getting wet by Ahsoka. You must remain inside the bunker. Ahsoka is outside the bunker and can't step inside. Longest to avoid getting wet wins. You have twenty minutes. Your time starts after Ahsoka gives an example of what she is capable of."

Ahsoka sent a water balloon arcing gracefully through the air and over the wall. Directly towards Cal. Sorry, Cal.

"Sorry, Cal," Anakin said with nothing like sincerity. "The rest of you should probably move."

More water balloons started to come over the wall as Ahsoka started jogging around the outside of the bunker.

She had spent the vast majority of the weekend down in her workroom, emerging early Sunday evening, triumphant, and tumbled almost immediately into bed, absolutely exhausted. Fifteen hours of sleep had taken care of most of the accumulated sleep debt, but hadn't done a damn thing for the soreness that came from nearly forty-eight hours spent working on--well, never mind what she'd been working on. It was probably all fine and, like, super-ethical and stuff. Don't even worry about it.

He was camped out on the common room's couch with his tablet for his shopping adventures. He was definitely planning to customize a pair of low tops, and he'd added the high tops with flames and a crop top to his cart already, but he was trying to figure out...

First Aid (Fandom Style), Friday, Period 3

"Some people," Don said to his class, "can fly. I apologize if this is the first you're hearing of this, but it's just the way it is. Maybe they have wings, or magic, or rocket boots. Maybe they are...I believe the term is 'self-yeeting.'" Did he use that term because it annoyed Thor? Yes. "And sometimes those people fall out of the sky or they go smack into a building, because of reasons.

"Now, most of the time people who can fly seem to have some sort of inbuilt protection against the normal consequences of physics. Or body armor, for the guy with rocket boots. And that's great, because falling from great height or slamming into a solid surface at high velocity are usually, you know, very bad for a human or humanoid body. So what are you looking for when your flying friend leaves a them-shaped crater in the pavement and then doesn't get up and walk away?
